Giving at the table: rounding up the bill for a charity

In France, people know rounding up at the supermarket till. Couvio brings it to the independent restaurant’s table.

How it works

  1. The restaurant chooses its charity.
  2. When ordering, guests can round up the bill or pick a small amount. Nothing is preselected, and saying no is as easy as saying yes.
  3. The donation sits on its own line of the bill. The restaurant collects it with the meal.
  4. The restaurant remits the donations to the charity and uploads the proof of payment to Couvio.

What the restaurant sees

Donations collected, remitted and still to remit, for today, 7 or 30 days; the journal donation by donation, exported as CSV; every remittance declared with its proof.

What the guest sees

A thank-you after giving, and the euros the restaurant has actually remitted, with its commitments.

In the menu, the donation is called “Help fund a meal”.

What Couvio does not do

  • Couvio never touches donation money.
  • Couvio takes nothing from donations.
  • No tax receipt is issued for these donations.
  • The charities shown in the demo are examples.
